How it works

Lines are compared exactly (or case-insensitively and trimmed, if chosen) using a set lookup, preserving the original order of first appearances.

Worked example

Lines apple, Apple, apple, pear with ignore case on become apple, pear.

Good to know

Trim spaces to catch lines that differ only by whitespace.
