PDF Compressor

Browsers cannot recompress images embedded in a PDF the way desktop tools can, so this tool offers two honest methods. Lossless optimization removes overhead and metadata and keeps text selectable, but usually saves little.

How to use the PDF Compressor

  1. Upload a PDF and see its size.
  2. Choose a method and quality.
  3. Compress and download if the result is smaller.

How it works

Rasterize mode renders each page to a JPEG at your chosen quality and DPI and rebuilds the PDF. It can shrink scanned or image-heavy files a lot, but text is no longer selectable.

Good to know

If a method cannot make the file smaller, the tool says so instead of giving you a larger file.
