Overtime Pay Calculator

Overtime is extra pay for hours beyond the standard schedule, usually at a higher multiple of the base rate such as time-and-a-half.

How to use the Overtime Pay Calculator

  1. Enter the hourly rate.
  2. Enter regular and overtime hours.
  3. Set the multiplier and read total pay.

How it works

Overtime pay = Hourly rate × Multiplier × Overtime hours. Total pay = Regular hours × Hourly rate + Overtime pay.

Worked example

400 per hour, 160 regular and 12 overtime hours at 1.5×: regular 64,000 + overtime 7,200 = 71,200.
