GPA Calculator

GPA (grade point average) is the credit-weighted average of your course grades on a 4.0 scale.

How to use the GPA Calculator

  1. List each course with credits and grade.
  2. Add or remove rows.
  3. Read your GPA and total credits.

How it works

GPA = Σ(Credits × Grade points) ÷ Σ(Credits). Grade points: A+/A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B− = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C− = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, F = 0.

Worked example

Math 4 credits A− (3.7), English 3 credits B+ (3.3), Biology 3 credits A (4.0): (14.8 + 9.9 + 12) ÷ 10 = 3.67.

Good to know

Schools differ on A+ value and plus/minus grades.

Weighted GPAs for honors or AP classes are not included here.

Add all courses to get a cumulative GPA.
