How to use the Fuel Cost Calculator
- Pick the fuel type.
- Enter distance, mileage and price per litre.
- Read fuel required and total cost.
How it works
Formulas: Fuel needed = Distance ÷ Mileage; Cost = Fuel needed × Price per litre; Cost per km = Cost ÷ Distance.
Worked example
450 km at 15 km/L needs 30 L; at 100 per litre the trip costs 3,000.
Good to know
Real mileage changes with speed, traffic, load and air-conditioning use, so add a margin for long trips.
