Unix Timestamp Converter

A Unix timestamp counts the seconds elapsed since 1 January 1970 00:00:00 UTC (the epoch). It is a compact, timezone-independent way to store moments in time.

How to use the Unix Timestamp Converter

  1. Enter a timestamp or pick a date.
  2. Read UTC, ISO and local formats.
  3. Use Now for the current time.

How it works

Seconds × 1000 = milliseconds. Values below 100 billion are treated as seconds, larger values as milliseconds.

Worked example

1700000000 is 14 November 2023, 22:13:20 UTC.

Good to know

Timestamps are always UTC; local time is derived from your device’s time zone.
